When does the
crisis hit?

We leave A Fonsagrada / Padron early to beat the heat and head towards O Cádavo Baleira.

The day starts with beautiful mountain views, horses, old tractors and a visit to Hospital de Montouto, a historic pilgrim hospital dating back to the 14th century.

Then comes the real challenge: climb after climb, reaching almost 950 metres, followed by a long, exposed section under the blazing sun.

Somewhere along the way, I finally find a tavern — and after starting the day without coffee, that coffee tastes like heaven.
